Brian Moritz is a singer and songwriter from the beautiful pacific northwest,USA. He has three CDs out on his own Bush League Records label. He's been called a blues rocker, a folk/protest singer and a country artist. Very often his music has been compared to that of Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Steve Earle. His CDs consistently receive good reviews in the local and national press and his live shows are always well received.

Brian is an anomaly. This is the 2nd cd I've heard from him, and this too has a theme. First it was baseball. From the first pitch to the last strike out. Now Some Mother's Son takesthe dark, blue road into town, and up the back alley to plead with the drug dealer to stop selling his wares cause he's just killed "Some Mother's Son". and right next door comes "DUI and DOA" about drunk drivers. Yep, it's a "Dog Eat Dog" world out there, but Brian is champion, somehow managing to keep it light even at the darkest moment. Perhaps because with his wavering Neil Young kinda voice he takes the evil onto his own shoulders. An original voice, a pleasure listening to.

What hath John Fogerty wrought? Here is an entire album about baseball and it's no novelty item. the tunes, ranging from the near heavy metal of "Chin Music" to the wistful "Last Stand in Japan," are funny and smart and the band can play.
